Warranty Policy
Last updated: 30/09/2025
Most products sold by GroveGear include a manufacturer’s warranty. Where a manufacturer warranty is not provided, GroveGear warrants against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from delivery, subject to the exclusions below. This policy should be read with our Terms & Conditions, Return Policy and Shipping Policy. Your statutory rights under UK law remain unaffected.
1) What’s covered
- Defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal domestic use.
- Products supplied with a manufacturer warranty are covered according to the manufacturer’s terms. We will help you access that service where needed.
- Where no manufacturer warranty exists, GroveGear provides a 12-month limited warranty from delivery.
2) Warranty periods (guide)
12 months (unless the manufacturer offers 2–5 years upon registration).
6–12 months (subject to manufacturer policy and normal cycle wear).
No warranty on wear items (e.g., blades, chains, sanding discs) beyond DOA.
Manufacturer terms apply; otherwise 12 months against manufacturing defects.
Exact periods depend on the brand/model. Please keep your proof of purchase and register with the manufacturer where required.
3) What’s not covered (exclusions)
- Normal wear and tear; cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
- Damage from misuse, neglect, improper storage, liquid ingress, sand/dust, or operation contrary to the manual.
- Improper installation, unauthorised repairs, modifications, or use of non-approved parts/consumables.
- Commercial/industrial use where the product is rated for domestic use only (see B2B terms below).
- Environmental damage (corrosion/rust due to exposure), vermin/insect damage, or force majeure events.
- Battery capacity loss from normal charge cycles; damage from incorrect chargers or extreme temperatures.
4) Proof of purchase
A valid proof of purchase (order confirmation, invoice or receipt) is required for all warranty claims. Please retain your documentation and any manufacturer registration confirmations.
5) How to make a warranty claim
Email info@grovegear.co.uk (B2B: b2b@grovegear.co.uk) with:
- Order number, product name/model and serial number (if applicable);
- Detailed fault description and when it occurs;
- Clear photos/video and a photo of the rating plate/serial sticker.
6) What we do next (remedies)
- Inspection: On receipt, we assess within 3–10 business days (complex cases may take longer).
- Remedy: At our or the manufacturer’s discretion: repair, replacement (new or equivalent), or refund if repair/replacement is not feasible.
- DOA (dead on arrival): Faults reported within 14 days of delivery are prioritised for replacement subject to stock.
7) Shipping & costs during a claim
- Within 30 days of delivery: If confirmed faulty, we’ll provide a prepaid return label or refund reasonable return postage.
- After 30 days / within warranty: You may be asked to send the item to an authorised service centre; return-to-customer is covered if a warranty fault is confirmed.
- If no fault is found or the damage is excluded, we’ll return the item at your cost and may apply a diagnostic fee where charged by the service centre.
8) International customers
- Mark returns clearly as “Returned Goods – Warranty” with the RMA number to avoid import charges.
- Local service may be provided by the manufacturer’s regional network where available; otherwise items may need to be returned to the UK.
- Original duties/taxes paid are typically non-refundable; consult your customs authority regarding any reclaim.
9) Business (B2B) warranties
- B2B purchases are governed by our Terms & Conditions. Warranty may be limited to repair or replacement at our discretion.
- Any downtime, indirect loss, loss of profit or business interruption is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Some manufacturers offer reduced or different cover for commercial use; check the brand’s warranty terms.
10) Limitations & liability
This warranty gives specific rights and sits alongside your statutory rights. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability under this warranty is limited to the price paid for the product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for damage arising from excluded causes set out above.
11) Care tips to keep your warranty valid
- Read and follow the user manual; keep ventilation/guards clear; use PPE where required.
- Use only compatible chargers, batteries and accessories. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Maintain the product (e.g., chain sharpening, lubrication, tensioning, cleaning) as specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not operate tools in wet conditions unless rated for such use.
